So what are we really like???

Bonnie is a genius. Sandra is extremely rich. Okay, not really but one can always dream…

Bonnie has a background in teaching early childhood education. One of the things that Bonnie discovered is that when working with kids, you never know what to expect! One day she was confronted by a four year old who was certain that Bonnie was not ONE OF THEM! One of who, asked Bonnie?  The child proclaimed, “You know, the grown-ups”. “You’re really just a kid, you’re one of us”, said the little girl. Bonnie realized there’s more than one way to be “outed” in this life!

Sandra’s time has been split between teaching massage therapy and running a small clinic. She feels that massage is a wonderful art form. Sandra has learned many valuable and insightful things through her work as a massage therapist.  She is convinced from her teaching experience that all adults are imposters and that ultimately we are all little kids in disguise.

So…how did Steppin’ Out evolve???

In our search for cards for one another, we never seemed to be able to find anything that expressed our personalities or embraced our relationship. So for Christmas one year, Sandra painted Bonnie a card. Bonnie loved the card and thought it was just fabulous. That was the beginning of Steppin’ Out. Since then we have been spending our time painting, drawing and writing cards.

We have loved the adventure.  We both draw, paint and write the text.  Often the cards are a joint process with us playing with scenes and text trying to express what we have in mind.
